"Celebrating Diversity Through Sports"

JOIHF 2017 U-20 Exhibition Team was part of Halifax's Celebrating Diversity Through Sports on the May 13th weekend. The event was sponsored by The Black Ice Society, Eastlink, East Coast Lifestyle, Halifax, and Hockey Nova Scotia.

The weekend comprised of two games, NS Celebrity Team on Saturday and Nova Scotia U20 Selects on Sunday. The game program was titled, From Bobsleds To Blades. Other activities included visits to the Sports Hall of Fame and  the Black Cultural Center, presenter Bernice Carnegie. Other notables over the weekend was Janice Miller, Jamaica High Commissioner; Don Anderson, Jamaica-International Sports Affairs and JOIHF Liaison-Consultant in Jamaica. The U-20 team won both exhibition games and the weekend was enjoyed by all.
